You Have Arrived At The Travel Destination

By Antoni Siboldo

Are you really ready for your first cruise? You say you'd like a few tips just to get you started. In the recent past cruise ships were called floating hotels. In the present day, you're faced with a giant. Today, many call them floating cities. You're met with a maze of staircases, various levels, aft-decks, and foredecks, walkways, and corridors. Your stateroom vacations are somewhere in here.

Much of the fun for first timers is discovering how to get around the ship without getting lost. You have arrived at the travel destination-your cruise ship. There are many public amenities to investigate such as pools, restaurants, and health club. Make a note where you saw the theatre and then return there later on. You're looking for relaxation.

You've already likely experienced a long flight and you're getting kind of tired. You'll probably want to visit your stateroom first. It's right this way. If you've listened to the people closest to you who have done this before you've made up a carryon bag containing a change of clothing and some toiletries. The luggage could be a few hours away. The cruise line will have given you some sort of welcome package with a map of the ship. Keep it handy. There are plenty of people around, ready to assist you on these vacations.

Vacations are a time to slow down and enjoy the relaxation. Grow a little patience. The ship employees are doing the best they can. Even with your map, you may miss the stateroom the first or second time but you will eventually find it, keep asking questions of anyone in uniform. Look and see if the ship has a wall map somewhere. These can be clearer than the printed kind you're holding.

You might be a bit shocked at the size of your stateroom or cabin. Publicity photos always make them look larger. If you're a buff of the old pirate ship motion pictures, and then explored a real pirate ship, you're often surprised too. Ships have always customized on board furnishings due to space constraints. When you make it back home, you'll now have some ideas about modifying your bathroom. Dining assignment is done usually with an on board credit card. Do not lose this! Today, as opposed to the days of the titanic, dining room assignments are really flexible.

If you're unhappy with the table, moving you will be easy. Ask in a polite way and they'll do their best to make your holiday enjoyable. Your dining ship's credit card will likely double as your stateroom door key. Again don't lose it. If it should happen, it is possible to obtain a replacement. There may be a charge. Enjoy your vacation aboard the ship, use the facilities as much as you like and above all have fun.
