Visiting the California Coastline: Your Vacation destination is Waiting

By Louvenia Ryman

Have you ever been to the Northern California coast for a vacation? If you aren't aware, this part of our country is really a wonderful place to go. If you are not aware, or have not traveled there in your life this article is for you. I am writing this to let you know how great the Redwoods of California are to see.

On the northern end of San Francisco there is a large area where the great Redwood trees grow tall and free. These trees aren't like any other trees you may have seen in your life either. The California Redwoods can grow almost 200 feet tall and are often as big around as a small car. There are a number of them that are so big that you can actually drive your car through a hole that has been cut out of the trees.

With all of the logging in the area there is a chance these trees could be gone one day. Hopefully though, there will be a conservation effort that will save them for future generations. It would be a shame to see these sleeping giants end their time on earth.

You may find a large area of this forest called the Avenue of the Giants which is really quite impressive to see. This section of the country is filled with some of the biggest redwood trees around. If you enjoy camping and nature, you will have no problem finding some great camp grounds in the area.

If you travel south from this area, you will run into Ft. Bragg CA. This small fishing and logging town is one of the most beautiful places you'll ever find. The town sits right on the Pacific Ocean and is home to all sorts of sport fishing such as salmon and cod fishing.

If you get the chance to pass through any of these regions of California I suggest that you stop in for a few days. These areas may not look the same in a few years, and it would be terrible if you missed them.
