Things To Remember When Buying Or Creating Quilt Wall Hanger

By Kristen Baird

You have your finished product. You take one look at it but find it difficult to get a view of the entire image. The most practical way for you to address this concern is to create a mechanism that will allow you to stand back, and view the craft vertically.

It does not matter what the purpose of the quilt is. If the end goal is to make it look appealing to people, then you must first verify yourself the beauty of the whole image. A quilt wall hanger is a good aid to do this. If you plan on bringing the design somewhere else, this could provide you easier means to transport the entire piece.

For those who want to personalize their own, the basic thing that you need to provide is the width of the design. Measure it well and secure a cloth. Cut a portion of that cloth that corresponds to the measurement that you have gotten. Attach it to the end of the piece by stitching. Get a hold of the other end and join it together with the other edge. A circular portion or a space will then be created.

After this, find a rod, something of good quality that will not easily break when you hang your quilt. It will carry its weight and should therefore be able to withstand it. Get one that has a longer width than the original quilt measurement you have earlier.

Then, choose the hanger. Some would go for the simplest one, something that only requires nails. With two nails of the same level, you can immediately place the rod atop it and the whole piece will then hang. There are commercial hangers however that are better looking and are affordable in price.

Those hangers that are portable are preferred by quilters who are always on the go and bring their materials anywhere. Those who are joining competitions want this mode as well for convenience purposes. If your work involves working within the confines of your house, then having a permanent one is the better option.

Be reminded that even hangers can be important part of the art already. If you are joining a competition for instance, it will be great if you couple your gorgeous design with a good looking hanger. Since it is on top, this is likely to be seen first by the judges. Something which blends well or complements the image that you have is a great choice.

Lastly, consider the manufacturer of the product. A trusted manufacturer is sure to give you satisfaction on your purchase. They can even offer you tips on how to maximize the use of the material of what type suits your design well. There are many of them, but not everyone offers quality service. Be choosy.

Art requires attention to details. Even that one thing that seemed to be unimportant can mean a lot when it comes to artist and designers. Minute details have the potential to ruin a craft. Consider your options.
