Meindl Boots And Shipping

By Simon Graft

Precisely how heavy are military shoes? If you are looking to ship some large, chunky patrol boots then you've in all probability asked this question. Especially if you need to post them overseas. When your product is pretty large it can result in some quite substantial charges which is not great when you have most probably had to spend quite a bit on the boots to begin with.

I first came across this problem as I needed to return a pair of defective shoes to a police force and military retail store. Luckily I still had the shoe box, if I hadn't, they may have been quite challenging to pack up. They wound up costing me 14 to ship back again because they were so big and so heavy. I was quite lucky as this charge was reimbursed for me. This was only due to the fact that they were substandard boots and so it wasn't my fault these were having to be sent back to the company.

Since that occasion, I have needed to post my brother some Meindl Boots. He's over in the Scottish Highlands with work and he needs his additional pair of boots sent up to him. In this situation as well I most certainly will ensure that I am paid back for that price of mailing them. It is far from my fault that he didn't remember them and wishes them to get posted to his work. On this occasion I made the decision to look at different ways of posting the pair of boots and seeing if there is a more affordable courier service available to me.

I did a little searching on the net, and I was soon able to find a courier service who can come and pick up my package as well as deliver it to his door for only 7. Of course, this meant I needed to stay at home for a day waiting for them to arrive and get the parcel from me which was not the greatest thing in the world. Nonetheless it was a large amount cheaper so it was well worth this small amount of bother. It was a good reason to stay home and enjoy some daytime Television! If they had not arrived on time to collect the parcel, I would have been very irked though.

That simply just goes to show how it's well worth checking alternatives in advance of purchase. And that is not just when posting things! I've also had another search online for army shoes or boots and I'm pretty amazed that so many retailers want to provide free delivery for this sort of product. When you read the information of Meindl shoes, it tells you that a single shoe might weigh more than 700 grams. Shipping them will not be cheap can it?
