Cherokee Camping Tent - Finding The Right One

By William Bell

There are many different types of camping tents available in the market. Choosing the desired type for your camping adventure goes a long way in determining the kind of camping experience you are going to have. The following will help guide you through deciding which Cherokee camping tent is the better option for you.

Dome canopies typically allow enough headroom to stand in the center, but floor space is limited. The dome make-up allows for featherweight tents with desirable element-withstanding abilities, though most persons who use this type of dome are planning to sleep in it only, and not spend a lot of time inside. Dome canopies are lighter because they use fewer poles - sometimes only one or two - and are quite simple to set up, often needing only one person.

There are special domes designed for severe weather, for example, the tunnel dome which looks like a roll with hoops inside. Those who are planning to travel to Mt. Everest would be well-advised to consider this type of shelter. If you're thinking about a camping trip with your family and you'd like more headroom than a dome canopy, you might want to look closely at a cabin dome.

These domes are heavier but will allow more space for large parties. A cabin dome looks like a cabin, with walls that go nearly straight up. It will provide room for several cots or air mattresses, and many cabin domes also have an attached screened room to set up a picnic table or store gear. A cabin dome design will give campers the ability to stand completely erect in the dome, since many of them reach at least 7 feet tall.

The moment when you decide to go to camp, the atmospheric conditions bring about a big difference, only if you have arranged a camp trip at a very cold location, you can try out a three season canopy. Tents must have adequate ventilation to avoid the feeling extreme discomfort during the warm weather.

Ridged Frame tents are large family camp tents. They have a robust frame which is made of shock corded poles over which the canopy fabric is hung. The wall fabric is usually made from nylon and polyester. The guy ropes hold the canopy in place during inclement weather. These tents are usually large and roomy but they are more bulky to transport and are more difficult to set up. Ridged frame camp tents offer room for activity gear and are generally used by larger families on extended camp trips.

Season Ratings- One Season Tents or summer tents generally use a 2-pole frame making it lightweight for those who need to consider weight. The body of the tent incorporates a lot of mesh and the rain fly is not as long as other season tents thereby increasing the ventilation. Three Season Tents are designed to be very versatile. These tents usually include a full rain fly which can be removed to improve ventilation. Three-season tents typically use a three-pole construction because it provides extra stability during heavy winds. These tents are very popular due to their versatility; however, they are not designed for cold winter weather.

You will want to consider a few factors, including what type of weather you will need your dome to be able to withstand. For example, if you are planning a camping and fishing trip in the middle of July in a cold area, then you will not need to buy a dome that can withstand snow and blizzard conditions. Bear in mind that your large camping tent will need to provide ventilation for your weather conditions, as well as possible rain protection.
