By Virginia Allen

Rome has some of the most spectacular sites. It is a city that you have to keep on your checklist. It not only provides the tourist with inspiring historic wonders, but the culture and the vibe just puts you in another world. There are both night time activities as well as fun daytime things to do in Rome which which will be suitable for all members of the family.

Activities come in the form of museums, of course. But it doesn't stop there. You have the chance to walk around the streets, admiring remarkable architecture. Churches are inspiring. It is a spiritual experience in itself. Not only will this leave you feeling blown away, but at some point you will need to catch your breath.

When you are ready to take a breather, there is always time to relax on the Spanish steps. Crowds gather here, snacking on a slice of pizza as they watch the crowds. Another great place to chill out is the Piazza Navona. This is not only relaxing, but it will leave you entertained as street performers pass by and creative artists display their masterpieces.

Of course, a 10 year old child will most probably become bored being dragged from one museum to the next. While adults can spend the entire day in the Vatican, this is not something that kid will be most likely to enjoy. However, there are special activities that are arranged for children. For example, kids get a huge thrill by dressing up in ancient robes and challenging each other as they did in the Ancient times. Kids get to learn more about another culture. They learn more about what real pizza is all about. They go to the market and experience something completely new.

For example, the Trevi Fountain is a huge attraction and popular with people from all over the world. You might want to stop over here, stare into the crystal clear waters with many others and admire the architecture and pure craftsmanship. You will also be able to join in the fun with plenty of other travelers, by throwing in a coin over your shoulder.

Don't forget the cuisine associated with this fine city. There is a major history that goes back to the creation of the pizza. It is best to visit a small pizzeria that is owned by a family where you will be able to talk to them and you will really be cared for as a local. The bigger touristy restaurants and bistros are geared towards the foreigners. There is not a lot that you can learn from an experience like this.

The architecture is phenomenon in this part of the world. It is a pity there are not many structures that are designed in the same way. You can see how well these structures are built because they stand the test of time. For example, the Pantheon goes a long way way. This Roman building is a hugely well known feature and the largest of its kind.

Think twice before you leave the kids at home. This will be a whole new experience for them. Having fun while learning at the same time is something that every child should look to gain of a vacation.
