If you were born in the earlier decades, then you have the option to purchase an oldies songbook. If not, then modern songbooks are still available for you.

You can also enlist the help of a close friend who knows how to play guitar already. This way, there would not be that much tension between you and your instructor. Being a friend, he or she can give you constant input regarding your performance as a student. No doubt about it, your friend will teach you all the chords, both the major and the minor chords, and everything in between. You have to memorize the placing of your fingers for each chord, if you want to learn how to play guitar fast.

You can choose any learning mode that you want but you should never forget this one important point: Playing the guitar is a process. You need to learn about it one day at a time. Practice is the only way for you to be the next big guitarist on this planet. You can practice for a whole two hours depending on your schedule.
