Know Your Italian Food In Tempe

In almost every city in the U. S., you can find a place to experience Italian food. Tempe is not an exemption, having a long list of restaurants that offer authentic Italian cuisines. Recipes from Italy have undergone various developments throughout the centuries. They are characterized by simplicity with several dishes containing only a few ingredients. They have become popular worldwide and has captured the hearts of people from different countries.

Any one in search of healthy food could find Italy delicacies a good choice. This is because they mostly use fresh ingredients such as tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, dark leafy greens and whole grains. According to research, such eating pattern will have various health benefits including moderate blood sugar level, low risk of depression, and ability to maintain normal weight.

Upon entering a restaurant offering such dishes, you will hardly resist the appetizing aroma that can only be found in Italy. You will smell the scent of cheese, garlic, tomatoes, olive oil, and wine. Foods offered in these restaurants is good quality, and the eating experience is more satisfying when matched with red wines which are deeply aromatic.

Some common irresistible foods include cheeses and tomato cooked in Italy style, pasta and breads, red wines and the olive oil. In Italy, a common meal is usually consisted of five course. The antipasti; usually served before main meal, the primo also known as the first course, the second; served as the main course, along a vegetable recipe called the contorno. The last part of the meal is the desert, usually consisted of sweet bites.

Antipasti are tasty and simple appetizers which are eaten before a meal. They include: bruschetta (usually tiny pieces of toasts accompanied by tomatoes, herbs, and cheese), capicollo (a spicy luncheon meat), insalata caperes (a salad), olives, salami, mozarelline fitte (fried bits of mozarella), nervetti (beef plus onions), and bread with olive oil and herbs. The following are breads common in Italy: bari, ciaccino, ciabatta, biga, buccelato, ciriola, crocche, colimba pasquale, and casatiello.

The primo is heavier than the first course and it includes pasta, risotto, and soup and broth. Pasta include cappellini, gnocchi, lasagne, linguine, macaroni, vermicelli, ziti, orzo, and cannelloni; and pasta dishes include baked ziti, carbonara, ravioli with marinara, trotelloni or so. Rice dish or risotto includes Riso alla Toscana, Risotto al Barolo, and Risotto alla zucca. Popular soup include Garmugia, Minestrone, Pasta e Fagioli, Strataciella, Grine sauce, Acquacotta and Bagna Cauda.

The secondi will come with various types of fish and meat. Buccal, Cacciucco, Baccala and Fritata di Bianchetti are some common fish delicacies from Italy. Meat dishes served in this course include Prosciutto cotto, Mordatella, Pancetta and Prosciutto di Pharma. After secondi is the contorni, usually vegetables. Common vegetables are eggplant, bell peppers or peperoni, legumes, artichokes and cauliflowers, among others.

Dessert is commonly known as dolce in Italy. Coming as the last serving, it is consisted of sweet foods. Examples of items served include dolce, chiacchiere, anisett, fruit di bosco, and others. Visit Tempe and ask for such foods in various restaurants to enjoy a great taste of such.
