Now for those who do not know, witchcraft is the power to be able to commune with nature and helps its practitioners how to utilize nature for their own bidding. Now although all wiccan rituals are actually different, all of them are made up of the same basic outline. All the practitioners of this art would be taught how to perform this outline.
Now the very first step when performing a ritual is to make sure that one would first cleanse his own soul. Now this is done simply because in order for himself to be able to communicate with nature, he has to first make sure that he is clean himself. The different ways to do this would be to fast, to bathe, or to do any other method of cleansing.
Other than cleansing oneself, one also has to make sure that he cleanses the place wherein he will be holding his ritual. He has to remove any unnecessary clutter that can be found in the vicinity. He should vacuum, sweep or mop if he has the time. He also has to keep his things and make sure that the place he is doing is ritual in is bare.
Now this would be the physical cleaning but aside from that there would also be the spiritual cleaning as well. Now what most practitioners would do would be that they would use a besom or a ritual broom that would be used to sweep away spiritual dirt. Now this has to be done because this would prevent having any disturbance while the ritual is ongoing.
The next step in the process is the casting of the circle. In this circle, the practitioner is protected from any harm and is free to perform his ritual without any disturbance from the outside factors. Now he may make the circle from any material that he desires depending on the style.
Now upon the completion of the preparations, one is ready to do the ritual. Now the ritual would involve a lot of spells and incantations. Now these incantations would actually help the practitioners be able to bring their energy in one place to perform a spell.
Once the spell has already been performed, then he has to make sure to close the circle. Now when one will close the circle, he has to first thank the god and the goddess that he is asking help from. From there, he can break the circle and already and balance all the energy that is there.
