A bright engineer by the name of Daniel Chavez Moran graduated from the University of Guadajara. In 1974, he decided not to pursue a career in engineering but instead developed Grupo Vidanta, a group of companies that develops luxurious hotels and resorts, some of which include the Mayan Palace Hotel, Grand Luxxe and Mansions of the World. It did not take him long to become a millionaire.
