It Is Possible To Visit London On A Budget

By John Wood

Many of us are deterred from visiting London because it is one of the most expensive cities in the world. Yet there are plenty of things that you can do and see which won't cost you an arm or a leg. In this article we take a look at some of the things to do and see when you visit London on a budget.

Shows

If you would like to go and see one of the shows that are on at the various theatres in London then save yourself money on the tickets but purchasing them before you go. As well as saving money you are going to save yourself a lot of hassle as you won't need to queue up to get them. Also if you happen to be visiting London with a group of friends then buying 10 or more tickets at any one time could save you even more money.

Attractions

Of course most kids want to visit the Zoo and the aquarium when in London but there are plenty of other great attractions that won't cost you anything. All of the city's major museums including the Victoria & Albert and the Museum of London provide you with entry for free. However other attractions that you should consider perusing are of course Harrods, Selfridges and one mustn't forget Hamleys. It costs you nothing to spend time wandering around the many floors of these stores, but be careful when in Hamleys because you may find your kids clamoring for what they have on display.

Food

When you are visiting London on a budget there are plenty of places to have really nice food that won't break the back. Yes you can take in the usual fast food outlets that are dotted around the city but there are plenty of other wonderful places to consider. Why not consider visiting one of the many pubs which offer well prepared food at prices that are very affordable. Also consider walking down some of the less well known streets and you are likely to find some really superb cafes.

Parks

London is known as the greenest capital in the world and has numerous different parks that not only visitors but those who live and work in the city can enjoy. All of the parks are open to the public throughout the year and offer plenty of open spaces where you can relax and unwind when the weather is warm. When it comes to visiting London on a budget the parks that we would recommend you visit include Hyde Park, Regent's Park and St James's Park. All offer a number of different things for you to see and each has plenty of activities for children to enjoy.
