A death race is utilized by runners of all kinds, primarily those who are eager for a higher level of challenge. These runners can show just how much they can take when it comes to physical exertion and they are always willing to push themselves just a little bit more. The name of the race stood out to me, as I'm sure it would with many newcomers, and it's like my creativity was already put to work. I wondered what would happen if such features of this race found their way into gaming.
A death race does not deal so much physical attacks but rather sheer output of energy. You want to be able to prove that you belong in events the likes of Spartan Race but what does this exactly entail? You have to look at the normal forces of nature, such as the mud under your feet and how you can move through it. It's also worth noting that you're going to need a lot of spirit if you want to contend with a litany of other elements, fire being one of many.
Now that you know about the race in general, how would it translate into the world of gaming? I think that you're going to have to incorporate quite a bit of leaping since that seems to be the one action associated with many of these titles. You want to show that you can leap long distances and continue to do so with the energy you have at your disposal. What about avoiding potential hazards which may threaten your trek on your way to the goal?
Fire is one of those features that I happen to like about these races because it makes the competitors conserve the levels of energy which they may have. What about other obstacles, such as walls in order to scale upwards? This is an addition that I could see coming about, in addition to platforms which have to be walked across carefully so that one doesn't fall into the mud below. These are just a couple of other features I could see becoming part of such a themed event.

In my mind, this means that people are going to see what they are made of. They will see where their limits lie and how much they can push them until they can no longer.
