A small metal hook were also used as substitute for their eyes but after the war, regulations were given leading to the usage of plastic eyes common nowadays. The cute noses of the teddies were considered to be the most difficult feature to make during those times. These were made of plastic and leather which made them complex to make. Embroidered noses were soon practiced and the most commonly used recently.
The mouths are originally and traditionally stitched using their bare hands. These were usually designed with a line and were finished in an upside down V form. Altering this V however will make a change in the emotion of the bear from a simple and alluring smile to a more speculative one.
