Queens Charlotte Islands Accommodations For Tourists

By Minnie Whitley

When planning a vacation there are a million details to attend to before you are ready to depart. You must arrange transportation, lodging and an itinerary that can be loosely followed once you arrive. When traveling to British Columbia you may find the Queens Charlotte Islands accommodations will meet or surpass all preconceived expectations you may have.

This group of nearly one hundred fifty islands on the western coast of Canada and protected by coastal mountains from the bulk of inclement weather offers a wide variety of lodging for tourists and other travelers. Visitors will find everything from luxury hotels to cozy bed and breakfast inns within walking distance from beaches and woods. All display an ardent concern for their guests comfort.

Larger cities have a number of hotels and motels to choose from. When researching on the internet you may find photographs of the facilities and their rooms to help you decide. They usually have a dining room for their guests or restaurants nearby in the case of the motels. Many offer internet access in the rooms and some have housekeeping suites that contain a small refrigerator, a coffee pot and a microwave for client use.

You will find that the hotels offer all of the amenities available in larger facilities. They are able to book tours for their guests as well as assist with boat tours and fishing expeditions. Shopping is available in the gift shop and you will find gift items and clothing to fit nearly any occasion.

Most bed and breakfast sites are located near the beaches and guests enjoy free access to them at all times. Although most hosts spend their time after breakfast cleaning and preparing for new guests, current guests have free access to their rooms and the surrounding property. The hosts are also an important resource for local information regarding tours, sightseeing and water sports.

There are many locations where you can rent cottages or small cabins if you prefer more privacy. They are furnished with full kitchens and heated by wood burning fireplaces or stoves in the common areas. The cottages are more secluded and can offer a more intimate atmosphere for guests.

You will find several parks and lake areas where camping is permitted in designated sites. The camping areas are supplied with tables, water and portable commodes. There is no fee in most of the camping areas for overnight stays. Hiking areas are abundant and guides are available in town that are happy to help you explore the parks and their unique wild life. This area has been referred to as the Northern Galapagos because there are several species found here and nowhere else on earth.

When you are deciding where to spend your vacation the place you choose should be someplace that has an attitude of willingness to please their clients. The services and accommodations offered by the inhabitants and business people in this area will encourage you to return for vacations every year you are able.
