The Sweetness Of Snowboarding Games

By Marci Glover

Computer can imitate nearly everything in this world. One of the most notable things the computer has imitated is snowboarding games. It is now possible to play them on a PC and enjoy just like in the real world. This may sound fantastic but somebody who has played the games will agree that the fun that arises from playing them on a computer is very much comparable to that on real board and ground.

A more recent advancement in technology enables people to play the game on their phones and tablets. Since phones and tablets are portable, users are able to play regardless of place and time. They will always carry their snow and boards in their pockets wherever they go, and time will not be a limiting factor to them since they do not need all the paraphernalia usually used in real snowboarding.

These games usually have peak and off peak seasons. They are normally found in abundance at some points in a year, but completely disappear later in the same year. Precisely, so many of them will be available from October to March before disappearing for a whole year. The late 1990s and the beginning of 2000s saw many of them flood the field of computer games. Before this period, very few could be found.

At the moment, there are many sub-genres of the genre snowboard games, all of which integrating real snowboarding skills into their operations. Among the best in this field are; SSX, SSX Tricky, SSX 3, 1080 Snowboarding, Cool Boarders, Amped 2, 1080 Avalanche, SSX on Tour, Cool Boarders 3 and Amped 3. These have been rated as top ten in this genre.

Some of these games are produced in series. For example, SSX is a series that is made up of SSX, SSX Tricky and SSX 3. SSX is the first in series and helped introduce others that followed in this series. SSX Tricky; the second in the series engages Uber Tricks and SSX 3; number three in the series, is responsible for initiating the concept of a mountain.

They have been played in public recreation places for many years, and technology has only taken it to a new level. This type of activities has always been called arcade games. Initially, they were run through the coin-system, but currently, they have all been computerized. The arcade version of snowboarding employs a tangible snowboard rather than using joysticks.

The negative side of these activities is that they cause addiction in people who play them. People tend to only think about them at the expense of everything else. Some players have even forgotten attending school because of wanting to play them all the time. People should, therefore, engage in snowboarding during their free time, and not all the time.

A study was done to compare the number of adults who engage in playing to that of children, and at the end of the study, it was evident that more children than adults get involved in this activity. Reasons for this status are obvious; adults have so much to do such that playing is not a priority to them. In addition to this, adults consider playing games as being something for the kids.
